Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Women’s Empowerment Unit in the College organized an extracurricular activity in October, which is considered the month of breast cancer awareness. The activity included the participation of many students from all stages under the direct supervision of their teachers in order to distribute several publications and awareness-raising brochures with explanations about the importance of self-examination and its role in the early detection of this disease, how to go for treatment, and visiting related competent health centers distributed in Baghdad. The activity included a tour of the administrative units of the college aimed at educating female staff, in addition to a tour of the Bab Al-Moadham College Complex in order to achieve as much awareness as possible. Several posters and expressive paintings that show the true meaning of this activity were installed on the billboards of the college departments. Additionally, an awareness-raising video was also produced, in which the media and relations director spoke, covering all aspects of the extracurricular activity and attaching his link to the report.
